Been a Long Time

Gee!  It's been awhile since I have done a post.  That being said - I have been busy making cards for OWH.  I just haven't been posting them here or on the challenges.  I have been trying the sketches and such but just no time to post!  That being said, I have decided to join in the Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July challenges.  The first challenge on Monday is to make a card using nontraditional colors.  The digi I used is from Bugaboo and was a freebie.  I really like the pink and aqua cardstock that I used.  This is a favorite card and I see making many more like it.

Well, so long for now. I am off to make more cards!

It's a Colourful World Blog challenge

Sandy, from OWH, posted a challenge on her blog for her "blogaversary".  The challenge was to make a card that would work for a male.  I really like how this card turned out.  It is simple yet eye catching (in my opinion anyway).  I decided to leave a sentiment off so that way it could be used for any occasion or for no special reason at all.

OWH Christmas in July challenge

The weekly OWH challenge is Christmas in July.  The challenge is to make a Christmas card to send to the troops.  Now that I look at my card closer, I have decided to add a Merry Christmas sentiment to the bottom of it.  It seems so strange to be making Christmas cards when the temps are in the triple digits right now!

OWH challenge 11 - New Pinwheel

Operation Write Home Challenge 11 was for a new type of pinwheel.  I have to say I LOVE this new pinwheel style.  It was so super easy to make yet really, really pretty.  I can't wait to make some smaller ones to see what I can come up with.  Thanks for this great tutorial and challenge on the new pinwheel.

Supplies:  Pink and Yellow cardstock for the borders
Pinwheel - BoBunny Love Bandit Stripe
Sentiment - stamp I got from Michaels in the dollar bin   :)

OWH challenge - Baker's Dozen

The Operation Write Home challenge #13  is "Baker's Dozen".  You had to use a teddy bear in your design.  This was not the card I had planned to make but during the day when I was going to print out some digis, my printer died.  Oh well...I was able to find a teddy bear on my cricut so I just went with it.  Sometimes you have to change gears midstream!

Supplies:

The paper is just cardstock out of my supply.
The phrase, balloons and bear all came off of the Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter".

Operation Write Home - Challenge 14

Well, I had to start jumping around with my challenges and do the ones I could because my printer stopped working!  I hate it when that happens.  Oh well, on to Challenge 14.

Challenge 14 was Color Me Crazy.  The challenge was to make animals colors they usually are not.  For example, a pink frog, a yellow ladybug or in my case, a pink hippo!  This card was fun and let the crazy side come through!

Supplies:  Pink gingham paper - The Paper Studio
Hippo, Grass and Statement - cut from the Cricut using the Create a Critter cartridge

OWH challenge 9 - Easy as 1-2-3

The Operation Write Home challenge #9 was "Easy as 1-2-3".  This challenge wanted you to use 1 piece of designer (printed) paper, 2 images and a phrase that is at least 3 words or more.  I had a lot of fun with this card and I think it turned out really cute.  I think anyone would like to be able to send it home to their child and/or loved one.  I bought the Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter" several weeks ago because I got a good deal on it.  I didn't know that I would have so much fun with it.  I highly recommend this cartridge to anyone.
